On Tuesday March 10th, the students from Forster Public School in the Support Unit were lucky to have a visit from the creators of ‘One Off Makery'. Bryony Anderson and Chay Khamsone came to Forster Public School to do a workshop on sustainability, and more specifically, help create the components needed for a 'Frugal Forest'. One Off Makery, supported by MidWaste, are holding workshops across the region to inspire people in reusing items usually destined for the rubbish tip. The results of these workshops and projects will be an intricately detailed forest built entirely from salvage, with a soundscape made from found sounds. All these workshops will culminate in an exhibition which will premiere at the Glasshouse Port Macquarie in January 2016 and then tour regionally. All students who participated marevelled at the things that can be made out of rubbish, eagerly requesting the opportunity to create more art 'out of rubbish'.
