New Principal

School Spec

The Forster Public School community welcomes the new Principal, Mrs Annie Everingham, and her husband, Barry. Annie arrives from her former position as Relieving Principal and Deputy Principal at Tamworth Public School which, with over 900 students, is slightly larger in enrolment than at her new Forster school. Annie will be sorely missed from the Tamworth Education District where she had over 17 years of leadership roles. Barry, ‘Baz’, has chalked up 34 years of teaching experience and leadership roles, including being Deputy Principal and Principal as well. Annie and Baz have 6 much loved children between them and 3 cherished grandchildren.

While Baz is happy to sit back and help his wife settle into her new position, Annie is thrilled and excited to take on the reins of leading an established school into the future following the promotion to Director/Public Schools NSW of former Principal, Rick Clissold. Annie was selected by merit, to lead Forster Public School through a rigorous interview selection process. Annie will be supported by her leadership team headed by Deputy Principals, Karen Austin and Lorelle O’Brien.

Although both Annie and Baz come with a wealth of experience in education, Baz has always had a passion for sport, particularly rugby codes and cricket. He is currently still involved in veteran’s representative cricket having toured Barbados last year and recently played in the Australian 50s National titles. A trip to England also beckons. Baz is also keen to pursue his interests in the Forster district.

In her farewell from Tamworth, Annie was lauded by her colleagues, P&C, students and parents and past staff members where it was said, “Today you close the door to the past and open the door to the future. Take a deep breath, step through and start a new chapter in your life!”

Again, a warm welcome to Annie and Baz Everingham.
