Welcome to the Forster Public School website. I hope your visit to our site provides you with an insight to the wonderful learning opportunities available to your child.

Forster Public School is a school of 672 students K-6 and 5 Support Classes. Forster Public School is situated in Forster, NSW where the traditional custodians are the Worimi people.   We proudly educate children on Worimi country. At Forster Public School we believe that every student should be challenged to learn in a supportive and inclusive class environment where student voice is encouraged and authentically heard.  Our core school values are safety, respect, and personal best. Staff, families, and students work in partnership to maintain high expectations and a positive environment where every student is known, valued, and cared for.

We offer a comprehensive sporting and outstanding creative arts programs including public speaking, debating, choirs, dance, and music. Our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology including Multi-Learning Displays through the Rural Access Gap (RAG) program. Technology is integrated into classroom activities, with the teaching of robotics and other STEM programs weekly.

We are a proud member of the Great Lakes Learning Community. We have strong links with local childcare centres to ensure an excellent transition to kindergarten for our students. Our ongoing partnership with Great Lakes College (Forster and Tuncurry) enables us to continue to develop comprehensive transition programs as Year 6 students prepare for their high school journey.

The school has a passionate, highly skilled, and dedicated staff. They build positive relationships with families and devote enormous time and effort to ensure that students can access a high-quality curriculum and quality teaching. Students also have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities, many of which take place outside of normal classroom hours. We are a Kid's Matter and Positive Behaviour for Learning school nurturing and supporting wellbeing across the school.

We are fortunate to be supported by an active parent community. The great partnership forged through the P&C Association, the parent helper programs, classroom helpers, volunteers/working bees, in the uniform shop, in the canteen and in support of major projects (kitchen/garden project) is highly valued and appreciated. The school also has strong links with and support from the local community.

We are proud of our award-winning garden program and, in partnership with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, involve children in growing, harvesting, preparing, sharing, and learning about food. Our curriculum provides students with positive food experiences that can lead them to a lifetime habit of healthy eating.

To support our many working families an OOSH (Out of school hours), staffed by fully trained childcare professionals, is on site.

We welcome you to our school and invite you to join us in the educational journey of your child.
